So every Tuesday we (LA Leakers) do this party in LA called Bubble Gum (inside Blu Monkey Lounge) and last night we held UNI’s official album release party for A Love Supreme 2.0 there. Shout to UNI, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Curt@!n$, Terrace Martin, Shawn Chrys, Johnny Polygon and EVERYONE else that came through… Here’s video of J. On the eve of the death of the late, great Notorious BIG’s anniversary, Catfish Billy came to Brooklyn Bowl to rock the stage. Lacking the decorum of a traditional rap artist, Yela jumped in the crowd and raged with Brooklynites. Ripping mostly hooks and verses instead of full songs, Yela came through the spot and killed his set before disappearing into the night in true Biggie fashion

I’ll admit, I’ve been sleeping on the kid but I promise to wake the fuck up. Shit is dope!

K’Naan is doing big things with his track Waving Flags! After being selected as the official song of South Africa’s World Cup 2010 (See video above) He also hooks up with fellow Canadians to remix the track in the name of Haiti

K’naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” is one of the standout tracks from his Troubadour album and has become something of a phenomenon thanks to its timely message of strength and solidarity. Now famed producer Bob Ezrin has brought together top Canadian performers for Young Artists for Haiti, and the group’s rendition of the song takes it to new heights. Performers include K’naan, Nikki Yanofsky, Justin Bieber, Jim Cuddy, Emily Haines, Hedley, The Arkells, Drake, Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Jully Black, Sam Roberts, Kardinal Offishall, and more.

Apple, the labels, and the artists are donating their share of the proceeds to the Free The Children, World Vision, and War Child charities.
